During 2007, the Jacksonville Police Department received 26,086 calls for service. This figure reflects a 6.7% decrease of service responses compared to 2006. The department had a total of 1,708 crimes reported, a decrease of 173 from 2006. 632 reported crimes were categorized as "Index Crimes". Of all criminal offenses reported, 867 or 50% were cleared by arrest. 858 adults and 190 juveniles were arrested during the year. The department continued a proactive approach to drug enforcement with 174 drug cases being opened. A total of 179 individuals were arrested on drug related charges. |
